Plan a transparent PRISMA reporting workflow
Research Metrics Africa · Revised 15 October 2026
Plan the evidence trail.
- Define eligibility, information sources and a reproducible search strategy; retain dates and exact queries.
- Retain separate counts for imported records, deduplication, screening, full-text assessment and included studies. Document reasons for full-text exclusion.
- Record who screened, how disagreements were resolved and any automation used. Do not present automation as human independent assessment.
- Keep extraction, risk-of-bias assessment and synthesis decisions linked to study identifiers. Report limitations and deviations from the protocol.
- Original record-flow worksheet: Stage | Input count | Excluded count | Reason | Decision owner | Evidence reference. Reconcile counts; a completed flow diagram alone does not demonstrate review quality.
RMA does not claim a built systematic-review screening product or sell an unverified review capability through this guide. It offers general methods planning within an agreed scope. PRISMA is reporting guidance; it is not a quality certification.
Consult the official PRISMA statement and your review protocol for current reporting requirements.
