Managed research data operations for NGOs
Run the whole path from field submissions to a defensible report.
For teams that do not need another dashboard to maintain. Research Metrics Africa can operate the secure workflow with your approved reviewers—from private intake and quality checks to documented cleaning, analysis-ready files and management-ready reporting.

- A clear objective or decision
- Relevant de-identified files or study context
- Deadline, required output and known constraints
Agree ownership and purpose → Provision the workspace → Operate the quality cycle → Prepare analysis-ready data → Support the decision
Timing is confirmed after the objective, source material, complexity, review needs and deadline have been assessed.
The fee is based on accepted scope, complexity and deliverables. The same quotation logic applies regardless of country or nationality.
Do not send identifiable or confidential records through the public enquiry. Minimum necessary access and a secure transfer route are agreed before intake.
- Fabricated data or guaranteed findings
- Work beyond the written scope
- Unsupported legal, clinical or regulatory claims
Substantial projects include one review meeting and a defined correction window stated in the written scope.
What you leave with
Clearer work. A more confident next move.
- A named, repeatable workflow from private upload or Kobo/ODK sync to approved final deliverables
- Role-based Owner, Analyst and Client access with project isolation between organizations
- Consent confirmation, retention rules, delete-now control, private files and secure download links
- Versioned raw and working datasets, validation results, cleaning decisions and approval history
- Analysis-ready Excel, CSV or SPSS files plus clearly labelled preliminary and final reporting outputs
The session flow
Agree ownership and purpose
We document the data controller, intended use, roles, decision needs, participant safeguards and deliverables before intake.
Provision the workspace
The NGO, users, project, source connection, mappings and QA rules are configured and approved before activation.
Operate the quality cycle
New data is validated, checked and queued for review; every accepted or rejected cleaning action remains traceable.
Prepare analysis-ready data
The approved working copy is exported with a data dictionary, issue register, cleaning log and known limitations.
Support the decision
Analysis and reporting are matched to the programme question, with assumptions, uncertainty and analyst validation made explicit.
Questions, answered
What is the difference between managed, hybrid and self-service?
Managed means Research Metrics Africa operates the agreed workflow. Hybrid gives the NGO a client workspace while our analyst supports quality and reporting. Self-service gives an approved team more direct control after setup and training.
Can we start with a single project?
Yes. A field operations pilot is the practical starting point: one NGO, one project, agreed QA rules and a clearly defined output before expanding.
Can participant identifiers appear in public reports?
No. Public-facing reports must use de-identified summaries. Direct participant identifiers remain restricted to the lawful, minimum-necessary private workflow and are excluded from public outputs.
What happens when a large upload fails?
Uploads are staged and validated before processing. The job records clear errors and status, can be retried safely and preserves a recoverable raw copy until the applicable retention or deletion action.
Review the quality and reliability method behind the service.
Scope acceptance, immutable source data, issue decisions, assumption checks, human QA and versioned reporting are part of the operating model.
